Donation for school tank

Anyone have a small(ish) tank they want to donate? Its for my brother, he is on his second year teaching at Doral middle and asked me the other day if any of my friends had a cheap tank laying around that he could use.

Anything would help, like lights / HOB filter / etc.

After we set it up I'll take pics of the tank in the classroom.

Thanks :D

I will have a 15g tank and a 20g tank available soon...
Is he planning a salt or fresh set-up?

If I can get enough parts donated (plus whatever I can scrounge from my box 'o stuff) I'll make it salt, if not the it will be fresh.

I have some stuff that you can use. Pm me if you want and I will give you my number.

I should have a tank, HOB filter and maybe a light.

Well if it's fresh, I might have a hood and lights for it too.

I'm going to shoot for salt right now, but if ends up being fresh then I'll let you know.

dont forget to have a plan for power outages if you decide to go salt and keep any live corals.

also keep in mind that all access to the aquarium should be restricted (no open tops) and placement is key to keeping unwanted objects or hands out of the tank. also, most of the chemicals and medications commonly used by hobbyests are on the do not use list (at least in broward) so proceed with caution when bringing any chemicals into the school.

ive found that tanks kept in the front of the classroom are the simplest to keep an eye on also.

The school is pretty new and it has generators, I believe its a designated shelter so hes pretty covered on the outages.

The tank will be right behind his desk, that will help with the unwanted intrusions but he knows quite well the implications (hes helped me with my tanks for the past 6 years).

He asked the department head about the chems and stuff that go along with keeping a tank, he was told that as long as the students don't have access it would be ok (the chemistry teacher has lots of dangerous chems).

the tank has been secured, and I found some air pumps and old HOB filter. This weekend I'll go over everything and see what we are missing.
