Each will be small, but will grow under VHO or MH lights.
Each is free to a member of the club providing that.....

They provide the correct environ for it to grow.

They are at the next meeting to receive a frag

They describe how it grows for them under their conditions, and what those conditions are.

They promise that once they triple the size they are now, they will donate a colony the approximate size of the original donor colony.

If you wish to be a sponsor....reply to this list. I have one frag that is small that is not spoken for.
I gave:
1 to Paul last week
Holding 1 for TIMV
Holding 1 for Rocky
1 up for grabs.

I will frag this peice 4 more times in the next year. I can get 1 or 2 frags every other month. So if you are interested let me know.

It seems to be doing well. How exactly should I attach it? I have the piece rubberbanded around a rock. Is that good?

Tom

Attach the broken ridge(s) to a plug or a piece of rock with gel super glue or crazy glue. Freed

just bumping..........but for those who had some of these, let us know how they are doing.

Paul.

Doug, put me on your list when you have another frag. I run 4 48" VHO's in my 75 reef. Brad Trent gave me a small frag of sps that had broken of when it fell in the tank and it's doing great. I have it in the top of the tank.

Mine is in a recovery mode right now.

I attached it to a rock that had gotten hit over by either my tang or blenny. It had gotten burned in a few spots but it is recovering quite well.

frags?

frags?

Hey Doug, we would love to have a frag of the encrusting Mont. Cap. We have a 100gal tank with 4-48' VHO lighting. We will be posting pics of the frags we have previously gotten like the Cabbage from Don that's just bloomin like a aussie onion, the Colt coral, the leather from Rocky has just about tripled I think, unless my eyes are playing tricks, And Paul, those green star polyps are just TAKING OFF!@!@ We will post some pics once we learn how to do it....LOL

Thanks

The following people had some of the encrusting Monti Cap from Doug (lazyreefers) tank.

Tom and Rocky

How are they doing guys?

Paul.

As you all know, the Cap is still in a recovery mode dut to it falling over ahd touching the Hydnophora. It took a big burn, but shows some very good signs of progress. It has started to encrust the little rock that it was glued to. I'll post a pic of it tonight.

I don't think mine made it. I have a turbo snail that knocked the rock it was on over several times. It is a whitish color and doesn't seem to have grown at all.

Tom

Guys,

I will try 2 make 2 more frags of this coral in a few days. I will try to get them to the people first in line. This time I will try to make the frag bigger. And also glue them to small rocks. Once they start to encrust the rock a tad then I will give them away.

TOM,
I wonder if you don't have to much light? I have had this coral in a VHO only tank, with wild Temp swings and bad water quality.

Rocky,
How is your doing?

Doug

Mine is under 2000W of MH and does just fine and dandy. Actually, it is under a 400W radium. Some bulbs may cause bleaching and they do appear to go white.

If it is still alive, lower it, or if you try another piece, place it lower in the tank.

P.
