dose your skimmer go flat after feeding?

I have an XL-2 percision marine skimmer rated for 750 gallon on a 100 gallon system and fuge. and it has been on the tank a week now but the bubbles will go from small and good foam to large and drop down the skimmer aftr i feed is it like this for everyone or is it my skimmer not adjusted properly?

Yup, the oils in fish food will break down the foam on any skimmer. Same goes for the oil in your hands, so I try to keep my hands out of the tank whenever possible. The skimmer will recover from both of these relatively quickly...

My skimmer goes out of commision for 4-5 hours after feeding.

Then it looks like this again.
