When I first got my RBTA it was big and its sweepers were long but recently I got a bad case of ich and didn't know what to do. I talked to a lfs owner and he recommended Ich Attack he used it himself and it worked. He also told me its safe on reefs. So I went ahead got myself a bottle and dosed my tank with it.

When I first dosed this stuff, the rbta de-flatted and but would go back to normal later. Did this for a week. Fish recovered but the anemone lost some color and its not as big anymore. The corals in the tank did not change due to the treatment. it seems like it only messed with the rbta. Its mouth is still shut, still eats and has not moved. I did a large water change and so far same. Anyone have any suggestions on where to go now? The rbta isn't as red as it was at the start more towards a pinkish red tone.

Next time If I ever get ich, I'm not doing this again. I didn't think it would cause such a problem for the rbta. And at the start I shouldn't have either. But whats done is done. So I need some advice.

If I'm not mistaken (and I very well may be), all effective ich treatments are copper-based, which will kill most inverts (including anemones). Water changes and carbon ought to suck as much of it out as you'll be able to get out.

I have used thi product w/ nems and had no ill affect. It did take care of the ich problem I had.
Good luck

I used Formalin once a long time ago, I didn't know it harmed inverts. I had a choc starfish. you could tell it was affected by it, but he pulled thru.

good luck!

Thanks for the support folks. I changed out 20g of my 50g and I am using a bag of carbon atm. Is there anything else I should do?
And ich attack does not have copper or else all my corals and snails would of died already.

@apayne
Really? Your nem didn't deflate when you first poured this stuff in? Mine deflated once the ich attack hit the water and as days passed and I continued with the treatment but the nemo no longer deflated. I only noticed it looking like its shrinking in size, its sweepers are no longer long anymore. And its lost some color.

Is there anything else I should do?
