Doser Motor Voltage

The GHL motor is pretty available everywhere.
My problem is not with the GHL motor. It's the head. The turning gears inside the head get stripped way too fast. At $60 a pop, I would rather look into something else. Something with higher flow rate and don't need to be accurate since I'm using it for ATO. However, I do not want to lose my S1-S4 socket so finding another doser motor running the same voltage, I can reuse these switches.

Ah OK! Not sure on current rating on the motor as I this is a little harder to check. But the driver chips are not very robust and I don't think would take a lot of extra current. You may need to put a small relay in to drive the actual motor it self!

Strange I have had my unit for over two years and never had a problem like your having?
(Most it runs is the Alk 24 times a day at 35ml)

Is it going over the duty cycle and getting too hot which may be transmitting the heat through the shaft into the plastic gears??

I don't have a problem with the head or motor if it's being used correctly. I used one of the pump to top off my water which the pump is not design for. My evaporation rate it close to 2 gallons a day. :) I'm over heating the head of the pump. Since all my sockets is being used, tapping into one of the S switches is the only way.

The pump that I used for ATO ran for about a year before the head start to stripped and can't hold the siphon.
Ones that I used for dosing ALK and CA are fine.

Sounds like you have it all covered, let us know how it all worked out when you are complete!
I believe industrial washing machines have some big peristaltic pumps!
Not sure on voltage for those though.
Or just a standard 12 v bilge pump may even work (Ala tunze)

Good luck Nick!
