Anyone wanna school me on dosing techniques for a mixed reef of this size right now I dose mag alk cal every three days or so. Is this sufficient

What kind of stocking do you have? For a reef that small, I would primarily rely on frequent weekly or twice-weekly water changes with a good salt (red sea coral pro.) If you really have to dose, kalkwasser in your ATO is the most affordable option. Dosing liquid 2-part is probably the easiest.

Right now I have a bunch of chalices couple of rics torch frogspwan zoas 3 sps and a couple other misc. I would say Im heavier on the LPS side right now

Only advice I can give is to test. Like I said, you might not even need to be dosing. If you DO need to, tieing it into your ATO is very cost effective.

You need to test your water for Ca, Alk and Mg for about a week and see how much you decrease over the week. Divide it by 7 and thats how much you need to dose a day. Than you can do 1 of 2 things....

1) get a doser like a BM T01 that will dose a specific amount at a specific time
2) you can get a regular doser and a timer and see how long it takes to dose the amount you need each day.

You shouldnt need to Dose Mag but depending on what dosing stuff you use such as BRS 2 part it is recommended. Most likely you won't ever really have to do it.

1) You do a water change
2) The next day check your levels
3) Wait 7 days and check your levels again
4) See how much they dropped and divide by 7 for an average dose/day
5) Set up a system for dosing

You can get a BubbleMagus BM-T01 triple doser off ebay. There is a guy who sells them in bulk he has a "Make Me an Offer" I got mine for $210 shipped :)
