Good or bad idea? Has anyone had any bad experience doing this to rid the tanks of cyano? As in pairs stopping spawning?

I am running biopellets now to keep nitrates and phosphate in check but cyano won't go away

I wouldn't dose it, it will just be a temporary fix anyway and will come back, you will need to find the reason for why it is growing, not enough flow, to many nutrients, ect.

My 40B for my tomato clowns is a cyano mess. Has a massive ball of macro in it and about 3 cups of sand and the fish could care less. If they are spawning, let it be.
