Dosing magnesium

What does everyone use for dosing magnesium? And what levels do you try and keep it at? Trying to keep and sps dominant reef

What do you keep your alK at? I try and keep mine between 8 and 9. Is that a good value point to keep stable as well??

alk at 8 or 9 is perfect. I also use kent tech m and keep it around 1400.

Bionic has a good mag. You pay a little more but you also get more. There is a recipe to make your own on this site. You can get the ingredents from bulk reef supply.

try to keep my alk at 8 or so and ph 7.9-8.2 always a little nervous about jacking my alk to much and getting tip burn especially with 3 tangs and 3 wrasses (any algae and there on it)

I use your run of the mill epson salt from your local drug store... It's the same stuff and at the fraction of the cost!

that is ok for quick fixes, but long term sulfates build up and can be bad if released from your sandbed. best to buy the bulk Mag chloride from brs and use epsom salt to complete the mix.

Go to bulk reef supply. They have Randys directions on DIY two part(three part with mag), and it will tell you in simple terms how to make your own additives for cheap in comparison to hobby label supplements.

If you can make kool-aid....you can make your own high quality alkalinity, calcium and mag additives.
