what do you guys use for lime/top of pumps.myopoff is in basement about 12 feet of head. i know i could use a mag 12 or something like that but the few seconds it would be turned on it would pump too much. looking for more of an aqalifter that would suply12 foot head kind of a trickle.thanx for any help:fun2: :fun2:

I use a Reef Filler pump from Champion lighting. It is noisy, but works fine for basement top off to the first floor, as I used it in some applications. :)

I use the Aqua Medic Reef doser twin.I don't know what the lift is but it works with two rollers the rollers role over a tube that creates the lift so it doesn't require priming.I could look at instruction booklet to see if it can do that lift.Since its not a pump it might be able to do a 12 ft lift.

Greg I am in the same situation. I spoke to someone at MD and the aqua medic Sp3000 that do a vertical lift of 30 feet. I think I am going to buy one with a Reef Fanatic ATO. Hope this helps

Save you money. I tried one of those and there is no way it will pump a vertical lift of 30ft!! It is made to be right next to the tank. The one I tried would not lift 4 ft and pump about 8 feet to my tank. I returned it after a long to do with Aqua Medic and the place that sold them (not their fault). I bought a peristaltic pump made here locally. Quite honestly for the price of the Aqua Medic it is of poor build and quality. JMO

I own two of the AquaMedic twin dosers.

The firts was used for over two years pumping make up water from my garage to the tank. It went up 12 feet and over probably 30 feet. I had absolutely no problems at all. This doser is still in use.

The second one I have owned for about 18 months. It and the original are in use pumping up about four feet and over about six feet.

Your mileage may vary as advertised, but I believe the unit will serve you well.
