Dosing pumps

I think i am going to get a dosing pump to add in with my new build. I am trying to determine if its worth it to buy something like the bubble magnus or if the jebao works fine (can get one for 100 or less). I have seen threads before about the jebao one so could anyone give me some info on if they have been happy with it or recommend another dosing pump? Looking to dose calc, alk, mag...... really it but open to a 4th pump to add trace elements or something if i decided to. thank you,

One of our local, small, LFS has the Jebo and is quite happy with it. Can't beat the price.
Good luck. You should not need to automate the mag, it is so rarely needed but the third pump will come in handy for kalk or ato .

good to know. thank you. If i was dosing calc and alk would i need to do kalk?

Anyone else provide feedback on the jebao, bad or good? or should i look at another doser?

I have had the marine magic dosing pump for 5 years and it still works great. It is a cheap dosing pump if thats what your looking for. Just another option

I plan on going with the Pacific Sun Kore 5th. 5 dosing pumps plus ato that looks and sounds almost as safe as the tunze osmolator.

If I've learned anything in this hobby, it's you get what you pay for.

While the Jebao has an attractive price tag, I asked myself am I really going to risk thousands of dollars worth a corals to a $100 pump? Some reviews are good and I know personally of a few that bit the dust within a year, which in fairness even the best equipment can.

In the end I choose minimize my risk, GHL for me. If I didn't plan on going GHL I would entertain the BM, it's a nice pump as well.

GHL here as well. Just couldn't bring myself to trust the Jebao, even though several in my area are using them.

I'm an advocate for the brs dosers. Solid build and reliability. You need to use them with timers or a controller though. I suggest those with an apex if you can swing it.

Mines been rock solid for the 15 months or so that I have had it. The added ATO with 5 pumps is great (even though I only use 4 channels).

Exactly how I feel. Surely people with the need for a doser would have more than the cost of this unit in coral. I would never feel comfortable using a brand that has had huge amounts of failures in fairly simple products (in comparison to dosers) like powerheads and pumps for such a critical thing like alkalinity.

Even more expensive dosers can be duds. I have a RKE system and have tried using their DP1 pumps. Thus far I have needed to replace one pump four times just to get one that works. I have finally went with the BRS dosers and love them.

I have the jebao dp4. been using it for a month now and so far so good.. None of the siphon back issues others have reported..

If you get a 4 channel doser I would honestly only use the first two for ca and alk, and then use the other two as backups. You will not need a doser for mg. you'll only need to dose that once in a blue moon and you can just add whatever amount you need to your ATO. I don't know anyone who has to continually dose Mg on a daily basis. And trace elements. That can be toxic if overdosed and there isn't a "trace elements test kit" (that doesn't even make sense in an of itself) so how on earth would you know how much to dose?

+1
I've tried the cheap chineese pumps and learned my lesson. Not worth risking your entire tank crashing when a cheap doser quits on you when your out of town.

I am personally leaning towards the Pacific Sun Kore 5th, even though I am also thinking about getting an apex. Apex DOS is only two dosers, for the price I find it ridiculous as I can get the Pacific Sun Kore 5th for almost the same price. I like the built in ATO and the automatic water change you can set up. As for dosing I would like minimum 3 if not 4 as I plan on dosing Cal, Alk, NoPoX, and maybe Kalk as I deal with low ph.
