Using Mag as an example.

Suppose I need to raise my mag. level from 1190 to 1350 which requires 23/1 ozs. How do I find out the rate I need to dose using a pump?
I went to a calculator site but it doesnt specify the rate to be dosed to completely make the change

That depends on the rate at which your dosing pump doses..

In general its best to raise levels slowly and not all at once..

Frankly I wouldn't use a dosing pump to get levels where you want them initially..
Dosing pumps are set when you know your daily consumption rates.. then dose to maintain that.. manually dose to get levels where you want them to be..

I agree, I would just hand dose it. Limit your doses to 100ppm per day. With magnesium you can add all 100ppm all at once (unlike calcium or alkalinity), although it would still be better to split it into 50ppm doses and hit it in the morning and night.

How does one translate ppm into ml?

It depends on the concentration of your Mg solution. C1 xV1=C2xV2 and whatnot.

It looks like you have already done the math though, since you say it will take 23/1 oz. As thegrun alluded to, just spread the total volume out over a few doses over a couple days.
