Dosing Vineager/Dry looking sps

Ok I received my P04 Hanna meter. P04 measures 0.00. Have been dosing vineager and had been running gfo. Have zero nitrates. My corals look terrible. Little or no PE and look dry.
So my thoughts are back off the vineager, took gfo off line yesterday and start feeding alot more and using AA's.
Would like to hear some thoughts and input please......

Thanks

P04 & N03 @ 0 = :sad1: That said you should adjust carefully, sudden shift may prove to be counter productive. What size is your tank and how much AA are you planning? You could bump up your fish feeding too. Your fish will be very pleased!

Tank is 140, total system about 200. I don't intend to go overboard just think the tank is to clean now. I did change bulbs about 2 weeks ago but did shorten light period and used screen over tank.
So you think I should stop the vineager? Had been dosing about half recommended dosage. Just feed heavier on the fish? How about corals foods?
Plan on dosing AA's twice a week maybe?

I had been dosing 20ml a day during daylight hours. I dose Ca/alk at lights out. Was mixing the vineager with kalk in ato but I have quit a bit of evaporation so went to dosing with a syringe. I also dose sugar that is mixed into food that I make. Blue Coral Method recipe.

I would suggest adding more food and maybe trying some fish that like being fed a lot like anthias or wrasses. If that doesn't help, try lowering your dose about 10% per month and see where that gets you. I think the added food and fish will help out with the color more than changing the dose.

I have 4 tangs, 1 wrasse, 1 anthias, 1 angle, 1 gold african blenny, and a pearl gobie. I only feed once a day though. Mainly in the evening. I feed flake, pellets, frozen mysis, brine, and nori. Lights don't come on till about 4:30, off at 10:30ish. Might be able to get the wife to feed some for me.:worried:

if you haven't already, I'd post in he reef chemistry forum. Randy, Highlander, tmz and some other guys over there can give you some advice regarding carbon dosing...

I dose vinegar in my 120 with 29 gallon sump I have tons of rock though to in all I say I have 100gallons of actual water volume as well however I dont use as much I carefully mincreased dose as I would vodka i think the ratio 8:1 if im not mistaken could be. however;

week 1 : 2.4 ML dosed this for an entire week before I doubles dosage
week 2 : 4.8 ML
week 3 : 7.2 ML before everything fell to 0 I also run GFO in a 2LF reactor

I dont feed that heavy fish include 1 leaopard wrasse 3 barlett's 5 reef chromis 1 rabbit fish 1 atlantic blue tang and Red Sea Sailfin tang I have great PE and Color maybe your dosing too much ? just a thought.

Ya that's what I'm thinking. My tank is 140, approx. 80 pounds of rock with a 75 gal sump divided in 3 sections. Refug. is about 25g, skimmer is 20g, return is about 10. So my guess is approx. 155 total water volume. Was dosing 4ml vineager. Going to back off to 2ml and leave it there. P04 is 0 and No3 is 0. Going to do a couple large water changes and try and get more balance back. I would prefer nitrates to be <5.

Does your dosing vinegar have an negative impact on your fuge?

I wouldn't say negative really. It has been slow to no growth for quite some time. Before the vineager. Had chaeto/calupra <spell check. The chaeto has dissappeared and the other is hangin on for dear life. Will be pulling it out all together. I run a ATS (algae turf scrubber) which has worked out really well.

Wow, I'm my 6th week of dosing vinegar(60ml/per day), I guess I'm over dosing, but I see no negative impact on any fish/corals.
My tank is 120gl/40gl sump with 90 lbs of live rock......so I guess my total water volume is about 120-130gl.
I know Randy 200gl system he was doising over 200ml of vinegar for awhile.

Ya I'm not so sure its the vineager. The only thing I can think of is I changed bulbs out a couple weeks ago from 11 month old Radiums to Reeflux 10k. Pretty big jump for sure. I raised the lights, cut back the light cycle and covered the top with screen. But I was mixing vineager with kalk in my ato but had to stop cause my evaporation is pretty high right now. So that may have od'd the tank. po4 is 0 so is no3
