The solution to pollution is dilution. I'm a big fan of doing water changes.
Nano, I would create a little project if I were you. I would start a trashcan or vat of new salt water. Dump a quart of your old tank water into the vat to advance the aging process (maybe). Then everyday do a water change (maybe as much as a half gallon).
When doing the water change be sure to make an attempt at harvesting the algae along with any mulm or detritus in your tank.
Thats gotta knock your levels down and it has to cost less than phosguard.
