Not sure if this is against any site rules, but i will try and see if i get deleted haha.

Just want to gauge the intrest in the Dothan, AL area and surrounding on a new saltwater aquarium store which i am thinking of opening myself.

Any input would be great so i could see exactly how many people are arround this area with the same intrest.
 
if i do finally open one it will be exclusively saltwater fish and corals and of course inverts. with a huge selection of reef safe inhabitants including some hard to find fish you never see at the pet stores like the Blue Throat Trigger and Swallow-Tail Angels
 
That would be great!!!!!!!! I'm also in Enterprise and drive to mostly Montgomery or P,cola for my saltwater stuff.
 
I used to go to bill's, but as you said it's pretty depressing to go in there, I usually make the trip to Montgomery. It would be great to have a store so close.
 
i actually ventured into bills today and he had a beautiful kole tang for 39.00 but that was it besides his huge vol lion he has

you guys should help me come up with some names heh the one i have thought of is "Reef Keepers"
 
I live in Andalusia. Would love to see it happen. I am sure that you are more aware than I am, but it seems like a tough business. Let us know if/when. I will tell the other swfish guys around here. But there are not many.
 
It would be nice to have a decent store closer than Montgomery or Panama City. I was in Bill's last week and saw the Lion fish and a Clown. The pet shop here in enterpise is crazy. They want 60.00 for 20l tank. I bought one from petsmart for 30.
 
i just got back from montgomery today ( had a VA appointment) and i visited their store for the first time. they have a lot of stuff up there but it all seems too cluttered lol, maybe it is just me. i do like their store though. i have been to the store in enterprise 2 times and bought a mandy from there, but it proceed to carry ick and i was kind of irrated with that store.
 
Sounds good, but I would start small. I have thought about it a few times, but it seems to risky for me. I know when I had my 360g tank my power bill went up about $225 a month. That got old fast.

I can think of about five maybe six people in the area that would like it. Most of them don't get on the forum. I have been driving to Pensacola for my stuff for years. I go to Montgomery sometimg, I'm not a big fan of a dirty store. I'm sure you would get business from the panhandel and the Montgomery area. good luck and keep us posted.
 
Im just north of Panama City and would make the trip for a good store. Key would be a good store catering to fish only, not the other pet stuff that the stores here have. I also sell my b & w to local stores (Mermaids Garden Aquaculture) and would love the chance to win your business.
 
thanks for the input i think i have actually found then spot i want on westgate pkwy and montgomery highway it is a 2100 sq ft building i have been busy collecting tanks around the area and from my home town of jacksonville florida. i have a funny collection of tanks so far but im happy with my wife not thinking i have gone insane. still working together the kinks with how much the startup will cost and i think it should be up and running within the next 2-3 months

2 - 30g
4 - 10g
1 - 125g

trying to get more this weekend and the funds are almost to where i need them to be to actually sign the lease for the building.

if anyone wants to donate some tanks or has any for sale let me know.
