Are you looking for Dowflake specifically or just the calcium portion of the homemade supplement? Lowes in Reading had a skid or 2 of the Prestone Driveway heat out about a week ago.

yes, I was looking to make the supplement. I was under the impression that the 2 recommended barnds were Dowflake and Pedlow. Those were the ones Randy tested.
I think the Prestone Driveway heat works just as well although I have persoanlly never used it. If you look at the improved ( http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2006-02/rhf/index.php#4 ) version about a 1/4 of the way down the page Randy just says to use 20% less if you are using the Prestone product. Anyway, if you can't find the dow just try Lowes for the Prestone. I found it in the Lawn and Garden area right were you would check out, outside. I want to say it was about $15 for a 50lb bag.
In York, the Home Depot has a skid of Tetra Flake (CaCl 77-80%).Its what I use. It works fine. As for Magflake, I haven't seen any around yet this year. Going to WV this weekend, I'll check when I'm down there. If they have any, I'll get some extra.
