Down sizing my 65gallon

well, after finding out that my sister will be needing a place to stay I've found that I can't keep my 65 gallon tank. I'm moving my "Toys" into a small bedroom and space will be at a premium. Know I can't go without a tank so, I'm going back to a nano tank.

I've decided to get a Oceanic biocude 24g. I want to use some of the LR that I have in my 65g plus my corals and a few of the small fish I have. I'm going to Mod the tank for more flow. I've seen this done. Then I want to set the new tank up with water from the 65. Also, I want to use some of the LR rubble for the filter. I'm thinking that this will cut down on the cycle. As the new tank cycles I'll mod the hood for more lights.

My biggest question is does anyone know of a site that is just for modding these "All-in-one" tanks? or has anyone here added MH to one of these hoods? I want to have T5 or CP and MH. I will be running a chiller so the heat should not be an issue to the tank just the plastic hood. thats my biggest fear. the Lights heating up the hood and burning it.

Any help would be good. I don't want to go into this blind.

Well if you're using the live rock thats in your 65, you wont have any cycle at all (maybe a spike for a day or 2 but thats it) because that rock is already cycled. You'll be fine just transfering whatever you're keeping into the new tank. Thats what i'm doing w/my 29 that i'm breaking down and i'm setting up a 16g bowfront. I got the new sand in there settling right now, and as soon as i get home from work today it should be cleared up enough to throw in my live rock and corals. I'm using all the water out of the 29. Not because it helps "jump start" a new tank, because it doesnt (no bacteria in water, just on the rock, sand, etc..) but just so i can make sure the water is the same as the water in the previous tank so i dont have to really acclimate the corals.

As for a site for modding nano-cubes and the sort, check out nanotuners.com. I know they have lots of mods for the nano-cubes....but i'm not sure if they got the biocube stuff or not. If anywhere does, they'd be the place :)
