I custom built a 90 gallon tank out of a 120 with 100% overflow over the back and a 30 gallon refugium. I'm going to a 10 to 30 gallon nano with a 30 gallon refugium, and need help.

Old 90 Gallon features:
30 Gallon refugium with macro algae and grow lights
2 X 250 MH Lamps
4 X CF blue/white
Timers, timers, timers
Skimmer
Reeflo Snapper Closed Loop Circulation with 4-way distribution
SPS
LPS
MISTAKES:
Florida Live Rock - Too much temporary life
Deep Sand Bed, then Shallow, now None
No cooling other than evaporation
Too much Live Rock
No calcium reactor? (Kalk only)
I've been battling algae for 6 years (brown, leafy stuff). I grow SPS, but occasionally lose one or two for unknown reasons after years of big growth.
Goals:
10 - 30 Gallon Seamless, round Nano with 30 Gallon Refugium
LED lighting
SPS
Self sufficient (cared for by amateurs) for up to a few weeks at a time
Huge flow, but not from a hot tub pump
I'm open to suggestions and critiques (here they come?). I feel like I've been fairly successful, but I work WAY too hard on this 120 gallon (total) set up.
Money is not unlimited, but after 40 years of keeping aquariums, I do have more funds than I did in the beginning.
Please help.
