Drain and return question

Is there any reason that I could not use a 1" drain and a 1" return?

I have everything I need to do this...Just looking to save some cash since I have the bulkheads and all the pvc...this will be for a 40b with mag 18 return....if you are wondering about the big pump I will be using it to feed all my reactors and tee it off for the fuge.

Technically it can be done. I don't think it will harm anything. I think the pressure might be a little low though on the return.
