Drain line suggestions

I am changing out my sump on my 180 and looking for suggestions on what to use as my drain line. Currently have the flex pool hose with cuffs on the end that attach to 1" PVC glued to bulkheads on sump and slide over the bulkheads attached to overflow. The bulkheads on the sump are in a different location so what I have is wrong lengths plus it is several years old and I am thinking probably best to change the hose and the bulkheads in overflow since I will have easy access. I just redid my return pumps plumbing and one bulkhead had a crack in it and had to change it out. I could buy what I have now to the closest size but will probably have some access length which would cause it to have a droop or thinking about using vinyl tubing which I could cut to exact length I need but afraid it could crimp or use nylon braided tubing. Just curious as to what everyone else is using and why. What is the good and bad of each or is there a better solution other than hard plumbing with PVC?
Thanks

No, there is not really anything that actually beats (in reality) hard plumbing. What you have is really not suitable either, as it does not have a "smooth" flow condusive interior. Vinyl tubing, due to the fittings being grossly restrictive, really is not a good option either, despite its widespread usage.

That said, if you absolutely cannot use hard pipe, (very rare actually) use Spa Flex which is a semi-flexible pvc pipe/tubing. It is very flexible when heated, but fairly "rigid" when cold. Spa flex represents a compromise between hard pipe and less useful tubing solutions. It uses standard pvc fittings, rather than barb fittings, so the restriction is not present, and the interior surface is not as horrible as pool vaccum hose. (Basically what you are using now.)
