driftwood in a fish only setup...

I've read that driftwood is and is not safe in saltwater. But ive seen big LFS have big setups with driftwood stumps in the tanks so is it good or bad?

Don't quote me hear but I believe that it is good for freshwater not salt it has something to do with the pH I believe

Driftwood lowers the pH which is the opposite of what you want in a saltwater tank.

Also it tends to degrade faster in saltwater I believe.

Everyone said it lowers PH; so I'll be different. Wood saps, etc., are very acidic. Look out of place too, IMO. Unless you are doing a mangrove theme tank.
