I am going to be drilling a tank. I need a 1 1/8 and a 1 1/2 hole but the saws I am looking at come in mm. My math says I need a 28mm and a 38mm saw. Does this sound right? Also should I get the saws with the pilot bits or without?
I keep hearing about equipment that the club has to loan like this but according to the website all we have is a couple tanks, heaters and eclipse filters.
Does anyone know what the club actually has and where it all currently is located?
Sure would be nice to compile that information on the new website for members to see.
Oh and to answer your question scott
1 1/8 inch 28mm perfect for a 1/2 inch bulkhead for 1/2 inch pipe <br> 1 1/2 inch 38mm for 3/4 inch bulkhead for 3/4 inch pipe
i use the non pilot bits and they worked fine. just start the cut at a 45 degree angle and slowly work your way to flat. no "skipping" that way
We do have the drill bits. You might want to check with Barrett. I think all we have are 2 phyto propogaters (sp???), the bits and the equipment Scott mentioned above
You should have your bulkheads first to make sure of the size you need because they are not all exactly the same OD and SCH 80 bulkhead will have a much larger OD.
