Yea, ca1ore thats the main reason why i think ill just go ahead and drill another hole. Whats 1 more hole if you're already drilling 3? lol. Plus I have a canopy and I wil be adding some grate to the back so no fish can possibly escape.Just ordered the BRS diamond coated bit so hopefully i can get this started next weekend.

as long as your sump can hold the extra water volume there is no reason you can't drill through the back for returns"¦it is much safer to do it through your overflow box though"¦cause if the bulkhead or plumbing leak you only lose the volume of water in the overflow not the top 3" of your tank...
