What types of bits do you use for drilling holes in glass tanks ? Are they hole saw bit. wear do you get your bits. What are some good techniques for this application? Thanking about doing overflows in my 55 gal.

You use special bits that are coated with diamond dust... You can find them on E-bay for $30 for a set with several sizes...

If you want to use 1" bulkheads, your hole will need to be 1-7/8" or 1-5/8" for 3/4" bulkheads.

Local glass shops can also do this for you (for very cheap) but they probably won't guaranty that your tank won't crack in the process.

I called my local glass suplier and it cost 22.50 per hole,or I've seen them on ebay for one bit about 6 to 9 bucks with shipping. If you have no experience with drilling I would take it to a pro.
