Drilling tanks?

Yes the angle will work
just use some thing to hold it in place so you get a clean hole.
If you let it it will jump around before you get the groove in the glass.
I used a suction plate from an old pump and drilled it out to fit the hole saw. stick it to the glass and use a power head to keep it cool. All over a trash can so you have a sump to work from.
 
Well my plan is to use the hole saw to cut a hole in a piece of acylic and use that as a template, between the glass I will have a circle of plumber's putty and I'm going to pour water in the plumber putty pool, then use my angle grinder at low psi to slowly drill the hole...Good plan?
