drilling with water level lowered

I did, but not with a whole saw, it was with a dremel side cutting bit. Took a good 30 minutes that way. 30 minutes of panic and what if. Then I decided to buy a hole saw and do it right.
Good luck and try taking video, could be the new rage on u-tube

45mm hole takes about 45 seconds with a hole saw. Much better than 30 minutes of agony with a dremel. When I cut the weir for my external overflow, I wanted to just break the glass so I didn't have to cut anymore. Yook me like 20-30 minutes to go 8 inches through 1/4" glass.

Johnny it'll be all good, no worries. I think you get confused with jski... (jake) different person GG:D

PS- I wouldn't think twice about drilling a full tank, specially if you are experienced, if not, remember do not push, "let the saw do the work", I sound like my Dad with that one

use a heavy angle and some ninja drilling skills, or you can make a template outta wood and clamp it to the aquarium and it'll hold the bit right where you want it. glass-holes has a nice tutorial video

Wait a minute how do you know poo-tangs hands are extra gentle??? Joe is this something that should be brought up at the family dinner sunday?

Have drilled more then 20 holes in my 750g set-up. Some before the tanks were filled others after they were filled and had to lower water. All with diamond hole saws and drill.
