And wanted to visit some area stores.. Any votes on which ones I should hit? How do they compare to what we have here in Phoenix?

Southwest Saltwater, IMO is the best in Tucson, large coral selection, along with healthy inverts and fish.

i agree with the first part but disagree with the second...... i would go to majestic for healthier fish although they always have an extra $10 or more tagged onto all livestock.

You must be kidding

You must be kidding

"i would go to majestic for healthier fish although they always have an extra $10 or more tagged onto all livestock." What you must mean is healthy Flat Worms, and car dealer pricing

I got qouted $600-$700 for a purple tang that I wanted, instead they just let it get HLLE and probably dead by now.

Dude there is no way that you got quoted $600-$700 for a purple tang, lol. How big was it? I have heard some ridiculous stuff from them, but never something like that, lol. I mean, you can get them at Petco for like $70.

it could have had magical fish powers or been the chosen one. then it would be worth that much so its highly possible.

Lol, a magic purple tang would definitely be worth $700.

LOL Maybe if it changed from a purple tang to a yellow, then black and then back to purple while its swimming, I would pay it then!

Dude, that would be pretty sweet. It would be like a really nice chameleon pain job, but on a fish.

Well I just got into the hobby a month ago and I found this thread looking for any comments about Majestic in Tucson. I'm ****ed because I did a lot of initial research about starting the tank and keeping the fish and corals but now I've had to become an expert on Aiptasia, Majano anemomes, and Flatworms. The Flatworms upsets me the most.

I was tipped off by another store to check my corals I bought there for Flatworms and sure enough the Torch coral I had bought had several I could see. It had only been in there 2 days so I decided to just dip that one coral and see if my wrasse handles any others that may have come off of it. I couldn't believe how many flatworms came off that small piece of coral when I dipped it with Flatworm Exit.

I first had called the store to inquire about what to do and was told a few ways to treat for flatworms. Then I went back in the store but didn't see the woman that sold me the stuff so I just browsed the tanks and now that I know what to look for most of their tanks are infested with flatworms. I'm a pretty big spender but I don't think it will be in their store anymore. Especially after they gave me speeches about how they are a little more expensive because of how much money they put into their tanks and how much experience they have...just look at our display tank they said.

Instead of telling me how to treat for them after they let my tank get messed up maybe they could treat their own tanks.

Dude, they bought that display tank with corals and lights and all that from a guy who was getting out of the hobby. It amazes me that the place is still in business.
