Dry Live Rock

We are doing a group buy from bulk reef supply next week. A lot of people have been happy with their dry live rock.

Then it wouldnt be alive. I never understood why they call it dry live rock why not just dry rock?

I purchased Pukani, Tonga Branch, and Shelf Rock from BRS to start my setup a while back. I couldn't be happier. It does stink for a while, but you are guaranteed no pests from it. I have some extra if you are close. I will sell pretty cheap. Mostly Tonga Branch left over and some shelf rock.

learn from someone else on this :)

I ordered 30 pounds of pukani from BRS. cycled it for about 5 weeks. took a check on the phosphate level and it pinned my meter. had to use lanthum to cut down the phosphates, and still had some algae issues afterwards.

long of the short - awesome rock at an awesome price - either way, check phosphate or treat with muriatic acid to remove the outside of the rock, or treat with lanthum to remove phosphate.

We put dry tonga in a friends tank and he has been fighting phosphate ever since :(

FYI - the phosphate problem is also likely with wet rock from the store.
