Dry rock stored outside safe to use??

My LFS has dry rock at a great price but he stores it on a pallet outside so it gets rained on all the time (plus car exhaust). Is this even safe to use in my tank?

I've got a pile of rocks in the back corner of my veggie garden. Whenever I need a rock, I just go out, pull the weeds off of the piece, rinse it in the utility sink to remove most of the mud, and toss it in the tank.

I keep my spare rock outside but unlike billdogg I keep mine on old metro shelving so I don't have to pull off any weeds just hose off real quick.

Its fine. Give it a rinse, bleach soak couldnt hurt.

I’d agree with a little bleach soak. Be sure to let it completely dry though. Bleach is harmless for our tanks once dry.
