Dry Shipping

Does anyone know about dry shipping? I heard that wild caught anemones are better off being dry shipped than in a small bag of water filled with its expelled wastes.

My favorite LFS swears by dry shipping for anemones (for fish, it's not so good!)

When the shipment comes in he medicates them with some type of antibiotic formula. Since they're "dry" (not completely of course, just with very little water), they absorb the medication immediately which supposedly kills any bacterial infection that may be present.

He always has the healthiest anemones. . .

:D

Do you know what antibiotics he uses or could you find out for me. I told the retailer that is sending my anemone to dry ship and I think the antibiotics is a great idea.

I can't remember which AB put I posted it in this forum once before. If you can get the search function to work you might be able to find it if you search for my posts. . .

:D

I searched all your posts and you said the same thing you told me before. You know that he uses antibiotics but not what kind.
If you could ask I would be greatfull.

IME, the best way to ship anemones is to use enough water to cover the anemone and use lots of oxygen. It's always worked for me.
