D's 150 In Wall Automated SPS Tank

So, here is my most recent attempt at a successful automated SPS system. I put water in it in December, so, it is now a little over 8 months old. I'll work on keeping this thread updated with pics as it progesses along. I am still working on "tuning" it, so it is still work in progress. Happy Reefing! :beer:

Alk, Ca, Vodka, and Clean Saltwater In, Dirty Saltwater Out are all handled by the dosing pumps. I dose Mg manually since that only takes place once a month.

Solenoid is triggered by a float switch via the Reefkeeper. And, it is protected via a float valve and overflow water sensor. However, this still has some risk....

It is just a 24 AC Volt outdoor sprinkler system solenoid valve.....from Lowes. The power supply it uses is from a alarm system....standard 110 to 24 AC.....

I found that the outdoor sprinkler system solenoids are the only ones that really work well, since they can handle the back pressure.

I have 2 kids, and they trash my house on a daily basis....this is the only place I can go to tame my OCD needs. :hmm3:

Yes, water changes are automated via 2 BRS pumps that turn on numerous times a day. So far, working great, with no real big salinity swings.

Yes, I have been screwing up builds for ten years. Lol. I am too stubborn to give up. All of my friends in the hobby drop like flies, and I keep chugging along...trying to get these darn sticks to grow. :lol2:
