Looking for opinions for two questions.
Background first.....
Current tank = 3.5 year old 135g display....was mixed, sps dominant, no anemones; very healthy and thriving. Total volume of system is about 180g with sump & refuge. Sold off all SPS. Just have srooms, GSP and couple of LPS left. 5 fish total. No measurable nitrates or phosphates. But clean glass every 2-3 days, so I'm sure the nutrients are there, regardless of test results.
Moving tank in 2-3 months to new location but 120g display and 160g total volume. Plans to stock will be same shrooms, GSP, LPS, and fish but will add couple of BTA's. Will move all live-rock but start with new sandbed. Nutrient export will be is skimmer, 20g chaeto and water changes +/- GFO.
Questions:
1. Local reefer has beautiful RBTA that he is dying to get rid off. Would it be foolish to accept now; knowing that the tank will be stressed in 2-3 months?
2. I understand BTA don't need sand like other anemones. But because of the increased nutrient input to the system (ie shrimp and other tasty anemone treats), I really feel that I should augment my nutrient export with a DSB (even though I'll loose tank real estate). Opinions?
Please help me make the right decisions. Thanks in advance.
