Dsb?

Hey All,

Wondering if anyone has modified the package formula and used a deep sand bed instead of 1 lb of live sand per gallon? I am considering to begin with 3 inches of "dead" sand and adding the tampabay live sand on top to create the DSB. The live sand could seed the other sand.

Have any of you tried this? If so how did it work out?

this is exactly what i did. seems to be working fine. the TBS sand came with all sorts of good critters. the DSB now has coralline algae growing in it. very nice.
