recently picked up a 65 gallon (36x18 footprint) and am trying to be patient as i put everyting together. I prefer the look of a sandy bottom and am wondering if it would be beneficial to have a true dsb (4-6'') or would it do more harm then good?
Is an ongoing debate that will rage on for years to come I think it can be beneficial in a tank that size if properly done. Take a look into some of the writings of Dr Shimek if your are truely interested in setting up a true DSB.
I agree with Landon. A dsb if properly done can be benificial to a reef system. The problem with dsb is that a majority of people who set them up don't do it properly.
