DTS phytoplankton

I was wondering how many of you all have use DTS and how often are you feeding it, also have any of you used the oyster eggs from DTS?

I use the DT plankton. I have brought back bleached clams and LPS corals by using this stuff. I have never tried the eggs-too expensive. The only disadvantage is when you forget to put the bottle back in the fridge:rolleyes:

Tom, I feed DT's every other day, 2 capfuls. But that will depend on your demand. There is an expiration date on the bottle. So bigger isn't always better. It come in 4 sizes, 3.75 ml, 7.5 ml,15 ml & 30 ml. Always check the exp. date before purchasing.

I too feed DTS every other day. 90 so only one capful. everything is just fine using it and loves it. I also use cyclopeeze and am trying the new reefroids

I think it is a scam. I have used it on and off with no differences. If you have a healthy active system you will not need it. Also how do you know itââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s alive? Are you checking a sample with a 10x scope before every dosage? Just because it does not smell does not mean its alive and then you are just adding more waste to the system. The only time I can see a use for it would be with sun corals or a very heavily stocked tank that will have a higher demand for food

DT's has been tested by various independant labs. Really it is very good except that there is not much species variation. Phyto is critical to a lot of microfauna and maybe a good idea even when you do not directly see results.

ANybody tried that phytofeast or other stuff on the sponsers reefnutrion site? I wonder if its good. Its says Bio-reef and Fish Maniac carry it.

I have used phycopure in the past. It is really good stuff, I would recommend it. Unfortunately, I don't know anyone in town who carries it anymore.

Thanks for all the great feed back. This is why I like reef central and all the feedback from the club members.

Alright I got both now. I am testing the Phytofeast now and we will see what is does. I also got some of that coral frenzy. Hey, lets see if I can spike my nitrates by overfeeding all this garbage:D

kidding aside, I will post my findings.

Florida reefs, your PM box is full....Yes I Love my lighting to put it short.....

I used to use Dts also, noticed that my corals seems to like it as they would really extend during feeding. I was dosing it for feather dusters and sponges, but seems others responded too.....

I would be interested in seeing the oyster eggs usefullness in my reef though.

I'm actually going to start culturing my own phyto/rotifers soon. The talking reef podcast guy has a show on doing it, and it looks easy enough.

sounds good reeffreak. I don't know what is going on with my pms. Its says I have deleted them all and all the pm tracking. Hmm I will try again.
