Dual 55 sumps on a 180?

After being happy with my DIY 55 gal sump for awhile,here I sit in front of the tank.I have 2 brand new 55's in front of me.Do I do a seperate sump for each overflow and return?Or,do I do a dual sump refugium setup?Tank is a 180 with dual Megaflow overflow/returns.I have 11 feet wide under the tank to play with.2 Mag 12's are pumping it back.Any ideas?John

you can run dual 55's but you will have to interconnect them...or if one of them pumps bows out...hello flood. I would make one of them a refugium and the other the sump containing the equipment.

Agreed, They have to be connected.

if you don;t connect them you;d need to have each of them able to handle the complete overflow of the top tank, which probably wouldn't be worth it
