Dual color torch coral

Hey there,

I have a branching torch that has both purple and green tips in each head. I've not seen this for sale anywhere. Is it some weird variant or something that happens with age? I got it off someone breaking down their tank and it's 4 years old with about 10 branches.

Ive seen a couple like that- and have a smallish one at home. I think its just an odd color variation- no idea what would cause it though. The new heads it has grown also have that two-tone look, so I dont think its an age thing, just a variant. Ive seen every Euphyllia except E. anchora have that kind of patterning to some degree.
