Hey all. the tips of some of the heads of my duncan coral look retracted and pale. Its placed next to some gsp that I have also noticed having some discoloration near where the duncan is placed. can the two sting each other? Is it okay to leave the two where they are?

I ended up trading the frag in for some zoas :) but I loved the coral it just wasn't doing the best in my small tank

That's a shame you traded it. It was very healthy. Duncan's can do some crazy things with their tentacles. The tentacles on my Duncan can be fat, skinny, or contorted based on it's mood.

I agree with scorpus, they do crazy things mine from time to time it "dies" literally specially during evening hrs then the next morning is all new again I call it Jesus.

Just so you know for the future, it looked like poor placement to me. Having it on the sand bed in the corner, next to the glass really wasn't to best place for it. It's okay to have it on the sand bed (as long as the tissue isn't buried beneath the sand), it just needed to be raised and moved away from the glass. It probably didn't get enough random flow.
Just my two pennies.
