Duncan finally open..

Ok guys my duncan in my 110g finally open after 5 months, but it never lost its bright green color. All other corals seem to br fine but the duncan. I am thinking its my salinity but im just glad it open up.

We love our Duncan. They are very cool. Glad yours opened. Ours is just getting green. I think he is completely open. Not sure. They are very cool looking I love all the motion.

Having the same issues after fighting dinos. Its been months. They still don't open up fully. :headwallblue:

Low alkalinity will affect a lot of LPS function.

I have noticed this with my frogspawn

Check your salinty as well, make sure its not too high, mine was high for some reason but once i lower it open up within 6hrs.

My Alk is 177ppm that not low

Salinity is 1,26 regular for reef tank

How stable is the alkalinity?

What is the Magnesoum level? I had some scans that were not happy when my Mg was low.

I assume your salinity is 1.026 not 1.26 or that could be the issue right there.

Alk is stable for sps corals to do well. Salinity is 1.026 . Mag is somewhere around 1400

Yes mine has always stayed very green even after being close for a couple months.

Awesome. The reason I asked is they looked almost redish in the photo. I'd kill for some red duncans!

Did your Duncan's hold that color?

When we got it there was not much green. After a few months the centers are very green and rest is more purple.
