pretty much, just cut through the branch, it doesn't really leave a hole, you're just cutting through the skeleton. Don't cut too close to the head as you may start to hit live tissue. And the last thing, if you're using a dremel, they can heat the coral up pretty quick. I'm not saying try and cut through in 2 seconds, but don't sit it on the coral too long.
