Duncan question

have a duncan for about 6 months now. started as a 2 head frag and grew and got bigger. now there is like 15 heads, but my question is the tentacles are much smaller now is this normal . also my clown is trying to host it, could this be causeing its tentacles to be much shorts or just it growing phase

I've actually had exactly the same issue. I finally ended up getting a nem for the clowns because they were smothering the poor duncan. Things do appear to be better since I added the nem, tentacle extension is better and the duncan has added several new heads, although the male clown still attempts to sleep on the duncan from time to time.

does anyone know if this will kill the duncan or just annoy it?

I've had an Ocellaris clownfish destroy a Duncan before. The constant interaction just became too much and I had to give the coral away before it was a lost cause. Definitely keep your eye on it. GL.

My clowns host my duncans and the duncans aren't bothered.

Was really looking forward to getting a Dunkin for Tommy. Guess I 'll do more research...
