Duncan was attacked

ok so i bought some new frags at fragtoberfest in connecticut. i bought a 3 headed Ducan and a Torch Coral. i placed the torch upstream in the sand next to the duncan but not to close. one of my emerald crabs knocked the torch into the duncan and this was the result pic below:

1 head got messed up but the other big one was fine and so was the new baby polyp.

Question is will this recover or is it past that point. And what happens are the other heads going to be okay or will this effect the other two?

Usually one head is enough

Not sure what that means.

Anyways, don't give up on the damaged head, it may recover.
But, be ready to dip or remove if you see infection.
Corals generally are quite tough.
Just make sure your water parameters are in line

Sorry just meant usually one head/polyp/mouth of lps and softies is enough to regrow a colony. (Im sure there are exceptions im just not aware of any)

well i went ahead and dipped it in CoralRx for 5 minutes. It is back in the water and the 2 good heads are fully out. The messed up head is just kinda hanging low.

so just an update. it has flesh hanging off and looks like it is dieing but unable to tell if it is reforming a head at the top or if it is going to die completely.

here a pic:

One head of my duncan recovered from losing about 1/3 of its head after I accidentally sucked it in into a turkey blaster while feeding (I know it sounds really stupid). Like I said about 1/3 of the head teared off, but grew back in about 2 months.

In your Duncans case, if it is due to physical injury, it would most likely heal. However, if the torch stung it, that head might not heal.

i suppose i'll wait a little more and see what happens. Not sure if i should leave it alone or take it out and remove the piece that is hanging. this is what it looks like now.
