please help i think my duncans are not feeding rite! They have all shrunk up even though i feed them with brine shrimp and add photoplankton. I have had them for a month now and they have been fine. The water quality is ok but we are new to this and have only had the tank for three months. Any advice please?

how long have they been closed? if its early still and its cold where youre at just give them a bit to "wake up." otherwise go get your water checked out. i used to have a tang that picked at my duncans too, didnt think anything of it until i caught it in the act. it was a vlamingi tang, the safest of the reef safe from what ive been told.

only a day or so.

i was mssing with the flow on my leather toadstool and since posting noticed the duncan had somehow ended up with no flow as a result of me messing around. changed flow back and duncan is starting to open up again.

cheers pal

Spectrum pellets

Spectrum pellets

about once a week with a glass tube to get the pellets down to them

feed the fish first though

One colony of mine closes up every so often with no explanation for a few days. That colony seems to need to be fed once per week. The large colony I have I don't feed at all, other than what it gets from the fish.

i have only had my duncans for about 7-8 months, but they did close up once and I thought the were doomed, but after a few days they openned up and looked better than they ever had...so maybe it is normal for them to take a few days off. I directly feed mine. I started with three heads and noticed a few weeks ago a couple of new additions to the colony :celeb2:
