Durso standpipe and some plumbing questions?

I´m planning to drill my tank for a durso standpipe. I´m gonna have the bulkheads 1" and the standpipe should be 1 1/4".
Now, what I am wondering about is the pipe from the 1" bulkhead to my gravity fed apf 600 deltec skimmer. The intake on the skimmer is 3/4". What size do you recomend having that pipe. Somewhere I will have to reduce that pipe to 3/4", should I do that already at the bulkhead or at the intake of the skimmer.?

Hope you understand what I mean....

If you reduce the pipe to 3/4 at the bulkhead, you will greatly reduce the amount of flow it will handle. It may be better to put a tee from the drain and have some of the water gravity feed the skimmer and the remaining water flow into the sump which can be controlled by a gate or ball valve. I would reduce it at the intake of the skimmer or after the tee. Someone had a picture of his setup:

Hope that helped.

ok, that sounds like a good idea,
I will not reduce the pipe but do you think I should continue with 1 inch pipe, like the bulkhead, or should I increase it again after the bulkhead and have the pipe 1 1/4 like the standpipe?

I would reduce the fitting to 3/4 at the ball valve, between the valve and the skimmer input. As far as the rest of the plumbing goes, I would run the 1.25" if it's feasible.
