Hello,

I have a soft coral micro-tank (45 gallons) with :
- soft coral : sarcophyton, lytophiton, sinularia, xenia
- zoantus and ricordia
- anemone : entacmea quadricolor
- gorgonian
- and one tubastrea

Could you think I can add a little dwarf angel who don't eat coral? If yes, what species please?

thanks for your help

bye

angels are always with caution i have an african flameback which is a dwarf angel and he is fine just be careful i would try the flame angel last their beautiful but every one ive had eventually ate my leathers. good luck

i've had a african flameback eat a green brain before
basically it's always a small chance any dwarf angel will "sample" coral

I have a lemonpeel and he has picked at everything I have put in there except 2 kenya frags. He has cut apart a pretty big mushroom, but it is growing mouths on each piece, so I guess he did me a favor in fragging them for me. LOL

I have a Coral Beauty and so far no problems. Each fish is different and thier personalities are as varible as ours. Some do fine when others are coral lawnmowers.
I have seen large Angels in SPS tanks before and due to heavier feedings they pretty much leave the corals alone.

I think it is one of those things you have to try and see. I have a Lemon Peel, and he won't touch anything but Zoos. He will pick at them so they close and never open, and then die.

Some people say if you keep them well fed, they won't, but I could have a tank full of algae sheets, and he will alternate between eating, and picking on the Zoos.

However, I also have Frog Spawn, Torch, Toad Stool and Devil's hand in the tank, and he won't touch any of them. Fortunately I have moved all the Zoos to my other tank when I figured he was the one killing them.

I have a pygmy angel in my tank and he is great, only picks at algae.
Agreed .....keep them well fed and your will have a better chance.

I have a Heraldi in my tank and he never looks at the corals. A friend of mine has a potters in a softy tank that doesn't eat the corals either. It's hit or miss though some will eat your corals and others won't. You won't know for sure until you put one in your tank.

I have a flame a lemon peel and a cherub in my 180. The cherub I have had for 3years or so the other 2 for a shorter period of time. the lemon will eat my lobo's and any coral that looks "meaty" the other two nip here or there but no damage. Lemon peel almost always will eat corals. I would stay clear of these.

From my experience Lemonpeels have been the worst when it comes to nipping. Each and every one of them has been a nipper. Currently have a bi-colour angel and he truly is an angel ;P
