Is it possible for a flame angel and coral beauty to pair and spawn?

I recently added one of each and they are always swimming together as if they were a mated pair of clowns. I was under the impression that they would not get along and would basically establish their own territory, but I never see them showing any aggression to each other.

I have seen hybrid dwarf angels for sale and it got me wondering if there is a slim chance that my fish are pairing up

What size(s) are they? How big's the tank? Temp? Snap a photo if you can and post it with them together.

I'm very interested in what might transpire between your pair(?) It took 3 months for my flames to pair up but when I bought them they were of different sizes and both small. If you can get them to pair up and produce viable eggs then you will have shown it can be done. In the past I've kept 2 flames, 2 lemon peels and 2 coral beauties in a 120 gallon with no interaction between the different ones ( plenty between the pairs).

Look for pairing behaviour. In pairing behaviour one will become dominate and be the male. The male will be larger and will show signs of chasing the smaller (female) around twards dusk/lights out. If both fishes are larger then 1 1/2"-1 3/4" you might have both males, both females or one of each. If you have both the same sex and they have it in them to spawn then there will be a transition time where one will change to a male and the other female. They may settle down and establish their own area yet. They also might just be sizing each other up. Only time will tell.

Thanks for the response, they are about 1 1/2 to 1 3/4" and are in a 120 gallon tank, (total water volume 183 as there a a few tanks plumbed together if that matters)

I will try to get some pictures or video and post. They do chase each other around but not in an aggressive way and don't nip at each other which is what kind of peaked my interest to begin with as I would have thought they would just do their own thing
