Dwarf Hermits

HereWeGoAgain...
Do the dwarf hermit crabs stay much smaller than regular hermit crabs? I want a few hermits for my new 75G, but I want to avoid getting any that get too big. Is there anyway to tell the dwarfs, from smaller regular hermits?

I just received an order of dwarf red hermits. Yes, they stay a little smaller and are very friendly. Check out Garf.org thats where mine came from. Good luck hunting them down.

Do you have the scientific name or other common name it goes by? Or perhaps a link.

I do not think the use of the word "dwarf" in the common name of a hermit can be a true indication of the size a hermit can get. You could do more research on each hermit you are interested in and see what sizes they range. Check several sites that offer them. You may get a better idea for size ranges. I think that most of the "reef safe" classified hermits are usually going to stay pretty small.

The Blue Leg stay pretty small.
The Red Legs can get a bit bigger than the Blues.

Also when you do your research try to get the scientific name because the use of "common names" can vary greatly.
