Dwarf Lionfish

HereWeGoAgain...
When I upgrade to a larger tank, I will have an empty 65g to play around with. I was thinking of maybe getting a type of dwarf lionfish. How are these fish, how many other fish, and what type could I put in with it? It will be a FOWLR tank.

Thanks!!!

the dwarf lions that will fit into a 65 will limit you to a fu manchu or fuzzy dwarf. while I think these are great fish, they tend to cap the stocking limit of smaller tanks. you are looking at the lion and maybe one or two other smaller fish before you are maxed out in your 65.

the other problem with this is most fish that will be happy in a 65 that wont be too much of a strain on your biofiltration might also be bite sized for your lion. what about trying just the dwarf lion? they are beautiful and with time will grow an amazing personality. maybe look for a yellow variant.

Thanks! I probably wouldnt add more than 1or 2 more fish, if any at all.

Im looking at the fuzzy dwarf lionfish or the dwarf zebra lionfish. The lionfish would be the main focus in the tank.

Im not sure what fish would be compatible, anyone have any experience with these? I dont want anything to big! Or anything that would be dinner for the lionfish!

Ill probably wind up doing the lionfish alone.

post pix when you get it going. i love these guys. had one for about six mo before i went reef. these are the fish that made me start keeping saltwater fish.

they are sweet and everyone is correct just a few smaller fish, atleast ones that dont fit into his mouth.

I think you could probably rock a centropyge (dwarf) angel in a 65 alongside a dwarf lion... just make sure you're planning your tank well in advance...
