Dwarf Seahorses have arrived! Pics!

I ended up getting them from ccritters.com - and they all shipped well, one of the seahorses is a little lethargic but everyone else is pretty perky and snapping up plenty of baby brine shrimp.

Here are some more pictures :D

Just a suggestion: You may want to remove and dip the "hitching material" that it looks like they shipped with. In most cases that stuff arrives loaded with hydroids and aptasia. You may not seem them now, but you will.

Oh I did :) That is a dead or fake sea fan - removed anything they came with because it looked alive and I didn't want it to rot.

They are so pretty...congratulations. Just so you know, Dana's dwarfs are wild caught so I would suggest deworming them.

Looking great. I have done business with Dana a few times and the dwarfs that I got from him did great. I didn't have any issues with worms (as far as I can tell), but avoiding hydroids and such is definitely a harder task than one would imagine. Keep them well fed, and expect lots and lots of babies

Yeah I don't think mine had worms either. I still dewormed them and their environment. One ended up getting tail rot, but I was able to medicate and save him. Sometimes I feel like he may still be ill from it, and other times he seems very lively - but still I'm really impressed how well they are doing. Only one has died, and that was because I took my hand out of the tank without checking if a seahorse was on it :(

i got mine today!
they were captive bred from seahorse source. i gotta agree. these things are ADORABLE.

im feeding them bbs.

i did things that u should never do to prevent hydroids...
i took the risk.. and got no hydroids

i had:

live rock
macro algae
corals
shrimps

i did find some aiptasia, but i zapped them ;)

where di u get dried sea fans? they look pretty. i have a gorgonian skeleton.. but its just a algae farm. (meaning its Covered with cyano and diatoms)
