I'm not sure that anyone will cary these until the pump issues are sorted out. And I will hold off until the new pumps come out and they work on US voltage, unlike the Eheims that come with it currently.

It costs around $1000 for buidling your DYI skimmer I rather buy the professional one :p

Well, I guess he goes for what he likes. The two pumps and the bayonet coupling(I guess he doesn't like my $5 bushing at the neck) from Euroreef costs over $750 plus all the Sch.80 plumbings, that's why. It could of cost him way less but he didn't want to. I built mine and it costed less than $200 in materials(excluding the pumps). The good thing is he got his hands on the DIY parts and I charged him only 1/10 of his material costs. The skimmer works well beyon my believe and he is very satisfied.

What's the height of it? Can anyone order one of these? Thanks in advance.

It's around 17" and the base is 9"X15". It fits well in my small sump.

Wow, this may work in my sump! How wide is the acrylic chamber? 8"? 10"?

Sang, what other questions you would like to know :o , I will measure it for you tomorrow. Just ask, I am to tell you about this skimmer. So far, so good.

Thanks Hornet. It seems like its taller than 17"?

Sang, it's 1:00 o'clock and you forced me to measure it ha?, it is 21" tall. Just measured it!

Hey Trung, It looks like you have a lot of microbubbles escape from the outlet due to the outlet was built close to where the bubbles are. Mine has absolutely no bubbles escape, I can have mine running next to the return pump without any problem.

Don't you know that I have a huge return rate? that micro bubble comes from the drain.

You can check with Reefer714 about the outlet of the ATI since he claimed that he operated once.

a lot more professional looking than some of the diy skimmers on here. Did you build it yourself? And just because it looks like a bk doesn't mean it will work like one does it? I hear without the right pump, no matter how close it looks like the bk, it won't function like one. Is that true? If so, why waste your much money on material and time to build something that doesn't function as the real thing? Just curious.

To answer your thread even though i found it very childish and disrespectful. Loc01 and I like to built one for many reason

Save money, better performance, personal pride since this is something we built vice buy it off the shell. My two H&S pumps produced 1800-1900 lpm. does it work as well as the real thing that is depend on how you look at it. As for me, i am very happy with the way it turned out and the performance.

i don't know because i havent called but reefgeek is listed as the US distrbutor for ATI. On their website all i found was ati lights but they can probably order the skimmer
