DYI Skimmer

Does anyone here have a design for a protein skimmer. I would like to attempt to build one...is it worth it ?

You can find many threads here on RC about DIY skimmers. I plan on making a thread once I finish mine. All I have to get is the sedra 9000 and I'll be done.

I went with the ASM/ Euro Reef design. The next skimmer I'm going to try will be square.

i have built a few different types of skimmers. what kind of skimmer are you looking for? recirculating, beckett, cc skimmer, venturi skimmer???? there are many good designs and a few bad ones.
here is a couple of designs for you to look at. it all depends on the size and style of skimmer you are looking to build.

.also, check some other threads out and see what they have to offer. there is alot of different ways to skin (or is it skim) the cat. :lol: :lol: :lol:
